Fall Decorations 2015 Part 2

If you read Part 1, you can see I had lots of fun decorating for autumn this year. I am sharing the living room (family room) today.

To the left of the fireplace are my squirrels from last year.

I was able to add red ribbons to them and keep them out for Christmas last year.

The fireplace with my lighted pumpkin that I got at TJMaxx. I am needing to fluff the lights. They have settled.

To the right of the fireplace.

I am in love with the ceramic pumpkins that I got last year from JoAnn's. I had them grouped all together last year, but switched it up a bit this year.

Two landed up top.

One down low.

I added my Pier 1 napkin rings all around.

I added my fall colored pillows to the sofa, but the truth is they won't be there long. Lucy, the springer does not like pillows on the couch and makes it her business to dump them on the floor. I keep a basket near by to hold pillows and blankets.

The candles are very old. Hallmark purchase I think.

I was going to share the kitchen, but the lighting in there makes it impossible to get good pictures. I am not a photographer. Maybe one day I can get Hubby to get out the "real" camera and take a few. I don't have too much in there because I can't stand too much in the there. When you are cooking it just adds too much to the busy space.

I have already spoken of how hard it it to keep the island from becoming a dumping ground. I swear if I put one thing on it, it is amazing how quickly something else gets laid down. Then, before you know it, it is loaded down.

I did add some ribbons to my ducks that are on the kitchen table. These were a gift from my mother-in-law many many moons ago. She did ceramics and I loved ducks. She had the cutest blue ribbons on them. She was very crafty and talented. In fact, both my mom and her are AMAZING. I have had good role models.

I am headed downstairs today to start cleaning up now that my son has moved out. I had said I wasn't going to clean up after him when he moved back home from the disastrous first year of college. He was much better than his teen years, but nevertheless, he is a male. He doesn't think things are dirty that are. Takes after his dad. I am starting in the bathroom. I will be scrubbing on soap scum today. I have already researched a few things to try on a long time of no mama cleaning up after him. We will see if any of them really work.

Scrubbing and praying today. I have found when I am doing those messy chores it helps to pray for that person you are cleaning up after then you can't be as aggravated at them.

  1. Love all the fall touches..especially the pumpkins!! I had to tell you that a sweet girl I know here in Decatur is one of the five finalists for Homecoming queen at Auburn this year...Sara Bedsole. So while I am a Bama fan, I am pulling for Sara to win homecoming queen!!

    1. I will have to be on the watch for Sara and hope she wins. By the way, thanks so much for telling me about the Q-snaps. I love it. It makes it so much easier to work with. We learn so much from each other.

  2. I am glad you like them Sandy! They have revolutionized cross stitch for me. I now have several pairs so I can work on different projects at the same time!! Thanks for cheering for Sara for me!! Her parents are so cute...her dad went to Bama and every year, the team that wins the Iron Bowl gets that Christmas ornament at the front of their Christmas tree!lol.

    1. Thanks for stopping by. It is in the sixties here this morning, but I don't think that is going to last at all.
