A Fun Weekend

Our family of Auburn fans had a great weekend. Jeff and I headed up early Friday to Auburn. Paul Allen stayed home with the dogs. Lindsay and Tyler came up late Friday evening.

This weekend was one of our biggest games of the year. Auburn vs Georgia. Auburn is close to the Georgia state line so there are so many Auburn grads from Georgia as well as families that have both Auburn and Georgia grads. It has always been one of my two favorite games. In a way it is my favorite rivalry because for me the Alabama game is just a little too intense and the Georgia games seems a bit more just like a rival game should be. For those outside the Deep South, you probably think we are nuts about our football here in the South. I would say yes, we are.

Jeff and I met our good friends who we have been friends with forever. They now live in north Alabama but have a place in Auburn, so we were able to visit with them Friday. We went to an equestrian match and then out to eat and then just visited. We got out to our cabin just before Lindsay and Tyler got there.

Tyler feels about the Georgia game the way I do about the Alabama game. When you have family members to rub it in 364 days of the year which happens you feel the intensity a bit more. Tyler's mom and all her sisters plus his twin brother all went to Georgia. However, his dad is a Georgia Tech grad and Tyler grew up a Tech fan. It wasn't until his senior year that he chose to come to Auburn. I am so glad he did, because he is a perfect match for Lindsay. His dad was pulling hard for Auburn on Saturday evening:)

Auburn came out on top this time and it was an exciting game.

Jeff and Tyler played golf Sunday morning early before we all headed home.

Paul Allen kept us posted on the dogs and Katie helped out some.

I will share a stitching finish this week sometime, but here are some photos of the weekend.

At the cabin before we left to go into town for the game.

BACK HOME...

Hallie (Lindsay's dog), Gus, and Lemony all enjoying eggs. They get far too much to eat when he is here.

Lemony never gets in that chair. Apparently she was done with Gus and seeking help from Katie.
This morning--- a picture of Jeff and Gus. I forgot to get Gus's 5 month old photo last week, so this will have to be it.

See y'all later in the week with a little cross stitch update.
Sandy

    1. I can't believe he is already 5 months old either. It seems like we just went to get him and Lemony doesn't like for him to get more lap time than her.

  2. Every Georgia Tech fan was jumping up and down along with you Sandy!! However, Georgia will be gunning for us in two weeks and they are madder than hornets which is not good for the Yellow Jackets.:) So glad you got to be there for this great game.

    1. I am sure all the Tech fans were loving it. Georgia might not have been as good as all thought. I really don't know but it was a fun game.

  3. What a wonderful weekend of family, football and fun!

That photo of Gus is just a perfect one for his 5 month photo. He looks so dignified! (Of course we all know appearances can be deceiving.)

Looking forward to your stitching update!

    1. Looks might be deceiving. He is a really good boy, but he can wreak havoc too. Like I said, I knew I had to get one now. I might not have the energy for a puppy later in life.

  4. Hi Sandy! I was jumping up and down as Auburn beat Georgia bad Saturday. I was rooting for your team the whole way. Auburn really looked good and I do believe they will beat Alabama too. It sure looked like alot of fun this weekend. I have been to one Auburn game and your fans are awesome so I know you have a great time. Lemony looks adorable climbing into the chair and Gus is getting to be a big boy. Glad you had such a good time. RJ

    1. Thanks for pulling for us. Florida is having a rough year. I hope they get it turned around soon. I pull for all SEC schools but one:) Lemony was so cute. She has her special places but that chair hasn't been one. She takes it all up.

  5. We fired our coach. Time will tell who the next one is. It has been rough for Florida for quite awhile after being so good. Last night we went to our first basketball game and they look very good and are rated early season number 7 so that is good at least. We all kid here that we aren't a football school anymore we are a basketball school. LOL!

    1. They will get the football thing turned around. The SEC is hard to stay on top year after year. We beat each other up too much.

  7. Sandy... I love seeing pics of your darling family and fur babies. When we lived in Texas I had a lot of tennis buddies who went to Auburn. They never lacked for team spirit. Enjoy your week.

    1. I am sure they didn't lack spirit. As I said, we love our Auburn family.
Fur babies are the best... they add much to life even though if they make lots of messes.

  8. Sounds like a fun weekend with family, Sandy--always made better when your team wins! I don't follow college football, but if I had gone to a large college like Auburn I might have :)

    Enjoy your day!

    1. Oh, I just need you around for a couple of weeks and I will turn you into an Auburn fan:) I worked on all my students over the years. So many moms would say, "What have you done to my child?"
